Jack would leave you with an image, that if it hit its mark, it would sear into your psyche.
He left many impressions with young readers. For some his work was not as polished as Neal Adams, Frank Frazetta, or Al Williamson, but it had a power of its own...for example, there is a scene of a biplane with Captain America at the controls, and it zips by you at the last second...in Jack's Bicentennial Captain America book.
