Once Upon....Still, today, in Hollywood lack of diversity

The once upon time ... still rings today. Ethnic minorities were treated as servants, thieves, pirates, outlaws, and such. Some of their statements made it out with a different context, "Badges...I don't have to show you any stinkin' badges."

Some rare choice historical figures were played by Hollywood actors, e.g., John Wayne as Genghis Kahn; Marlon Brando as Zapata; Ben Kingsley as Gandhi; and David Carradine playing the role that was meant for Bruce Lee.

The current movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, brings the caricature back with Bruce Lee. Yes, he was a show off but the movie only showed a slice of his being and the joke (spoiler alert----thrown onto the side of a vehicle), as a cheap laugh. But did you notice that Tarantino used Bruce Lee in all of those trailers. How much of the audience came to see Bruce?

There are several actors with star quality who are not given choice roles, e.g., Denzel Washington (often given awards when he is playing a gangster), Benjamin Bratt, and Edward James Olmos.

Hollywood give Edward James Olmos the roles he deserves!
