Was the dark Crystal movie a precursor to drones and BB8!

The Dark Crystal came out in the early 80s, and it could have predicted drones and BB8.

There is a little critter that rolls up and rolls across (like BB) the screen ala BB8.



The Crystal bats that spy on the two protagonist operate like drones of today.
