The Princess Bride is excellent in so many ways. The writer is excellent and his stories had already been adapted to movies. The director and producer was a fan of the story and a seasoned actor, and was onto his third movie.
The actors were right for the roles: Andre the Giant as the giant. Robin Wright as the heroine.
