Adam West who played Batman in the campy 60s version has died at age 88.
He worked along with Burt Ward (Robin) and starred with many major stars during the Batman tapings, including working with the great Cesar Romero (the Joker). The show debuted in January of 1966. The show was taped for an hour but had to be broken up to run two nights in a row due a scheduling issue with ABC.
The show was also a reflection of the campy comic of the time. That would change soon after the art of Neal Adams and the writing of Denny O'Neal was published at DC.
