It Was Frank Frazetta's Birthday Three Days Ago!!

Celebrate the artist and his art!

In the early 60s, Frank was having trouble readjusting back into comics after he left Al Capp, after many years of penciling the Sunday comic strip. Frank felt he was blacklisted after he left Capp and he had a terrible time getting comic work at different companies. His friend George Evans gave him some work inking his pages on the first Twilight Zone comic.

Frank was also breaking into painted covers and his friend Roy Krenkel got him in at Ace, the editor there did not have a liking to Frank, but Roy helped to ease things there.

Frank wanted his original art back, and hence did little work for EC. He did this parody back cover of Ringo Starr for Mad Magazine, and Hollywood took notice.

Frank did several movie posters at this time, many of them with Peter Sellers, and other popular stars.
