The late Steve Moore showed Alan Moore (no family relation) the basic comic book story format and Alan flew with that creating his own cat comic strip, writing comic book stories for Marvel UK and Warrior, and shortly thereafter at DC on numerous titles.
Alan wrote a few articles for the Comics Journal, the articles were later collected for an Avatar compilation, Alan Moore's Writing for Comics, and this was reprinted several times. The Avatar volume was illustrated with great art by Avatar artists.
Recently, Alan Moore created a masterclass, available online, for BBC Maestro.
