Neal Adams paved the way in many ways.
His art style was made waves when he first arrived in the comics, having honed
his art with influences from Wally Wood, Stan Drake, and others.
His actual first work was for Archie Comics, but soon he was at DC, Warren, and Marvel.
Aside from influencing many artists, he nurtured his own kids. All of them are artists in different areas.
Jason Spyda Adams is excellent at sculpture, Joel Adams is a comic artist himself. His ex-wife was an excellent colorist, and his daughter is also an artist.
