The new HBO Watchmen show will have a black female lead, with Regina King as Angela Abraham. It is set in the future and will tackle diverse issues.
It appears to be completely different than the 2009 movie. Damon Lindelof is putting it together as main writer and executive producer. Nicole Kassell is also a main producer, directing and producing the pilot episode.
“This new story must be original. It has to vibrate with the seismic unpredictability of its own tectonic plates. It must ask new questions and explore the world through a fresh lens. Most importantly, it must be contemporary,” Damon.
The show also stars Jeremy Irons, Lou Gossett Jr.
Of course Ozymandias is played by Jeremy Irons.
