Artist/author dave Gibbons confirms that the new HBO series on the Watchmen is an alternative version of the Watchmen universe, according to reports.
HBO has been in discussion regarding The Watchmen since at least 2015.
The series is based on the story by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.
The producer is Damon Lindelof. The series is scheduled for braodcast in 2019. Damon said it is a "remix" and not a straight adaption.
