Fats Domino, a music industry pioneer, has died at age 89

Antoine "Fats" Domino has died at age 89.
The R&B and Rock pioneer recorded such hits as
Blueberry Hill and Blue Monday.




His brother-In-Law, Harrison Verrett, the Jazz guitarist, taught him to play piano.

His house and belongings were destroyed during Hurricane Katrina. The record companies replaced his Gold Records. President Bush replaced the medal given by President Clinton.

A fan and neighbor thought he died and sprayed a message outside his home.



Some of his music, like It Keeps Raining, influenced the sound of Ska music. Elvis acknowledged him as the King of Rock.
