Your Name is an instant classic. The music serves the plot and the emotional content. The attention to subtle detail is perfect. The animation is well done.
This is one of the best movies period, if you live in an area where this movie is being test marketed go see it immediately. It is a five star movie.
The attention to every aspect of the movies shows. I saw the subtitled version and that is what I recommend. The story deals with a boy, girl, a comet, time, and so much more. There are characters from all age groups, and there are a few twists as well. The music enhances and does much, the voice actors are excellent and subtle.

It is directed by Makoto Shinkai, and written by him as well. The novel was published a month before the movie came out, also written by Makoto. I am sure we will see many more fine films by this director.

Mitsuha Miyamizu and Taki Tachibana are the main protagonists of the movie. The town of Itomori plays a central part of the movie, with its polemic balance to the Tokyo life. The nature scenes around Itomori are excellent, reminding one of the work of Akira Kurosawa and Hayao Miyazaki, but totally unique here to Shinkai.
Yojiro Noda, a rock musician, created the beautiful, serene (on some songs), and emotional music to the story.
The movie is very unique, combining traditional animation with modern technology, creating a sublime and woven masterpiece.
